Beard and Blade: Hair care tips for dry hair

Do you have a bad hair day all the time? Check the condition of your hair and see if it’s drying out. There are a lot of signs of dry hair aside from the obvious lack of shine. Try pulling a strand and see if it breaks easily. If it does, then you need to establish a good moisturizing routine for your hair!

There is nothing more annoying than having dry hair. It makes your locks look unhealthy which isn’t the look you are going for. Most people cover up dry hair by styling it. However, hair experts say that it isn’t the best choice for your frizzy and dry hair. Frequent styling will only result in more damage.

So, what can you do to make your hair bright and bouncy again? The answer is to moisturize and revitalize! Take a look at our care tips for dry hair and restore the natural beauty of your locks right here at Beard and Blade.

Make sure that you take care of your locks by following the tips below:

  • Choose an effective moisturizer

A lot of people come to us asking why their hair is still dry after moisturizing. The answer is because of the product.

There are a lot of hair products that advertise themselves as moisturizing, but it only coats the outer layer of your hair to make it appear smooth and silky. The product does not penetrate through the hair thereby not changing anything for the long run.

Look for products that contain natural oils like argan oil, coconut oil, shea butter, sorbitol, or olive oil. These natural moisturizers deeply penetrate the hair and solve drying from within.

  • Protect your hair from heat

Heat is a popular choice for styling hair and giving it a nice sleek look. However, regularly using heat from blowers and irons can dry your hair quickly. For this reason, you need to apply a protective coat to your hair before styling it with heat.

  • Mind the weather

Both cold air and blazing sun can potentially damage hair and make it dry. It is not advisable to go out during these kinds of weather.

However, if you decide that you need to go out, you should apply moisturizer and cover your hair. Remember to not let your hair get too much exposure from the sun or the cool air.

  • Trim

The ends of your hair are the most vulnerable part of your locks. It is the first part that will dry out and break, which causes split ends that can ruin your hair if you don’t fix it with a trim.

Make sure that you visit a hairstylist and use the right equipment, otherwise, the dull scissors you use from home can fray your ends further.
